I think it's raining outside. 

There aren't enough words for this anymore. In this poem I'm reading, the writer says: "They say language is like land. You use what is available, if it is available, where it is..." 

We used words and then when we ran out we tried to use the same ones again.
But there's no use lifting the earth up onto itself. Not even gods have that kind of strength. 

It seems that there's no talking my way back through or out or around this.

Okay, consider that we offered language like bread to each other.
But I'm not sure if this is what we were hungry for. 

Land, then. Distances on foot, in the rain.
